Advisors needed to shape future of downtown Port Coquitlam

Tri City News September 27, 2016 11:00 AM Downtown Port Coquitlam needs a facelift. And city council wants home, business and property owners to have a say in its future. City staff are asking for candidates to step forward to be a part of the new Downtown Action Plan Advisory Group, a six-month appointment to direct council on how to revamp the area around Shaughnessy Street.

More bus stops for Dominion Triangle in Port Coquitlam

Shoppers in Port Coquitlam’s Dominion Triangle will soon see new bus stops built as part of transit changes for the Evergreen Line to Coquitlam. This month, PoCo city council voted to spend $17,500 to pay for half of the costs of the 16 new stops; the balance will come from Coast Mountain Bus Company.

MPs hear from mothers of Rehteah Parsons and Amanda Todd

Published Monday, September 26th, 2016 The House of Commons Standing committee on the Status of Women heard emotional testimony from the mothers of cyberbullying victims Amanda Todd and Rehteah Parsons Monday evening as it continues to study violence against young women and girls in Canada.
