Maple Ridge, Tri-Cities get new ambulances – NEWS 1130

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – Worries about the long wait for an ambulance in Maple Ridge are being relieved with the addition of two new ones to the fleet. The hope is the service can soon respond faster as the number of calls for help in the area continues to grow Maple Ridge has only had two ambulances to work with even though the population has grown rapidly.

SkyTrain routes to change Oct. 22

Tri-City commuters who hop on the Evergreen Line when it opens sometime in December will effectively be riding an extension of the Millennium Line that will whisk them to as far as VCC-Clark station in Vancouver without having to change trains.

Coquitlam family walks for kidney treatment

Avery Saulino was two days old when he had an operation for a vesicostomy. Seven months later, surgeons placed a gastrostomy feeding tube into his tummy. Last August, his right, non-functioning kidney was removed. And this fall, he returns to the hospital to close the vesicostomy gap.

Port Moody violin prodigy to play at Orpheum

Port Moody violinist Corina Deng will dazzle at the Concerto Extravaganza next month for the Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. The eight-year-old girl will help to launch the orchestra’s season with other young talent on Oct. 16 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.
