Sunday:   BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund held their 23rd Annual Burn Camp Kick-off today at the Port Coquitlam Firehall proudly hosted by the Port Coquitlam Fire Fighters IAFF Local 1941. The Burn Camp this year hosts 71 burn injured children, over 70 volunteer counselors and support staff who will all be heading up to beautiful Cheakamus Centre in Brackendale for a week of fun. Campers and their counselors participate in group activities such as swimming, hiking, kayaking, a skit night, and arts & crafts. They also receive valuable one-on-one support from counselors and other burn survivors. More pics from Mayor Moore

Today’s Vancouver Mom: Jean Lomas-Hamilton – I live in Port Coquitlam with my husband, our one-year-old daughter, and my original life partner – Lily, our cat. We moved here from East Van just over a year ago, and since then we’ve been acquainting ourselves with suburban life while still venturing into the city fairly often.
