Friday:   Port Coquitlam Sports Alliance – INAUGURAL POCO GRAND PRIX A MAJOR SUCCESS: Port Coquitlam put its stamp on the professional sport landscape this evening and showed it’s ready to host major sport events. Inaugural champions are Kendelle Hodges from Australia & Justin Williams from the USA. Thank you to the many sponsors, hundreds of volunteers, City Staff & Council, and the Race Committee for creating an outstanding day in our city. The race will be back for 2017 !

Sentencing for PoCo imam will be held on Nov. 4 – Saadeldin Bahr, a director of the Port Coquitlam mosque who was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman three years ago won’t be sentenced until November.


Vets offer care to homeless animals for free – Animals benefiting from Sunday’s event will come from the SPCA branches in Burnaby, West Vancouver and Port Coquitlam. The fourth edition of Vets In Action takes place Sunday, when six veterinarians and 25 technicians will donate their time to perform operations on animals in the BC SPCA’s care for free.
