POCO GRAND PRIX JULY 16th SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Great promotion for our city across BC this week from Global News, with Mayor Moore in studio yesterday w/Jay Janower, and multiple spots on TSN Radio. 5 days until race day; if you are a sport fan or just like action paced events, this is the place to be on Friday and entry is free. The Friday July 15th Race Schedule is:

• 12:20 p.m.: women’s category 3-4
• 1:10 p.m.: men’s category 3-4
• 2:05 p.m.: awards
• 2:15 p.m.: corporate challenge
• 4:15 p.m.: kids’ race
• 4:45 p.m.: youth race
• 5:15 p.m.: opening and welcome to PoCo
• 6 p.m.: women’s pro category 1-2
• 7:30 p.m.: men’s pro race
• 8:40 p.m.: women’s and men’s awards on main stage

PoCo Minor Baseball – TriCity Bantam AAA Indians finished off a successful Wild Card Tournament at Bird Field this weekend. The Indians and Vancouver Minor Expos are heading to the provincials in Nanaimo.  Although the forecast was rainy all games got played at Bird Field and some exciting baseball was watched. This wraps up the Indians home stand at Bird Field for the season and for some the last time they will play on this field. Wonderful memories made. Stayed tuned as the TriCity Indians are playing in the Baseball BC Qualifier starting Thursday in Burnaby, top three teams from this tournament have a chance to go to PEI for Nationals.
