BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum – Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope have been named the number one moment in BC Sports History. With over 30,000 votes over the course of a month, congratulations to all top ‪#‎50Moments‬ The Terry Fox Foundation

Shannon Svingen-Jones starts FabUplus magazine to show plus-sized women as active people with fulfilling lives  – It’s been an all-consuming undertaking for the former educator from Port Coquitlam, who sunk her savings and a small business grant into the project. Producing a glossy magazine is an expensive choice in today’s digital world, but she says focus groups told her that’s what they wanted.

1st Poco Scouts Open House – 1st Poco Scouts is one of the oldest Scout Groups in Port Coquitlam (Circa 1947) and we have booked our Open House and Registration night for Tuesday June 21 at Hazel Trembath Elementary School from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We will have lots of fun events for the youth, information sessions for parents and the ability to register for Scouting in September. Open to all boys and girls (5 to 17 years of age).

The @CityofPoCo Float and PoCo Legion Pipe Band rock the @cityofcoquitlam Teddy Bear Parade.

Tomorrow night (June 13th) is the Tri-City Photography Club next meeting. It is a hands-on night so bring your camera, tripod, etc. We will be using the school grounds as our subject.

Burke Mountain Naturalists MONTHLY MEETING on Tuesday: Special meeting outdoors at Riverview (starts at 7:00PM)

BC SPCA Port Coquitlam Education & Adoption Centre – It’s rare for us to be in this situation, but we have run out of newspaper to line our small animal cages. If you have any newspapers you’d be willing to donate, we’d be very grateful. You can drop it off anytime between 10:30-6 at 104-3278 Westwood St. Thank you in advance!

Tri-City Fencing Academy – BC Provincials Update: Day #3 Congratulations to Noah Wong for winning gold and becoming provincial champion in Y12 Mix-Epee! Congratulations also to Michelle Wang and Mitchell Hui for their bronze medals in Y14 Mix-Foil. Special mention goes out to Sabrina Fang (5th) and Xiaolong Pan for their top-8 finish.
