PoCo Daily Digest June 28th, 2016

Tuesday:    On June 28, 1981 Terry died, surrounded by the love of his family, his friends and the nation. He died knowing that his Marathon of Hope would continue, with the first Terry Fox Run less than 3 months later. What he could not possibly have known is that his legacy would endure more than three decades, his name enshrined on mountains, schools and icebreakers, his story embraced by millions of people around the world. Allow us to share with you today some words from the “Running Into the Heart of Canada” exhibit: “Terry is part of our landscape, part of our culture, part of our yearly calendar, part of how we teach our children what a hero is. Terry is part of Canada, part of us.” Thank you for making room in your heart for Terry, for what mattered to him most. Thank you for helping move us closer every day to a world free of cancer. www.terryfox.org
