PoCo Daily Digest June 18th, 2016

Saturday:  POCO MARLINS SWIM CLUB HOST 400+ ATHLETES IN ANNUAL MEET THIS WEEKEND: Centennial Pool will be the site for plenty of race action this weekend as the Marlin’s host multiple competing clubs from across BC that include the Burnaby Barracudas, Burnaby Mountain Mantas, Coquitlam Sharks, Port Moody Aquarians, Haney Neptunes, Richmond Kigoos, Chilliwack Stingrays, and Sydney Piranhas. The meet begins Friday evening at 5pm with the Development Meet for the younger swimmers. The Saturday & Sunday events start at 8am and run into the late afternoon. The highlight of the event is the DASH FOR CASH in the 50 m freestyle, open to the fastest seeded swimmers in attendance. Admissions is free.



Yesterday marks five years since we lost Betty Fox, Terry’s mom. Betty was the driving force behind the annual Terry Fox Run from the very beginning, a fierce guardian of his philosophy and legacy and a tireless worker on behalf of the Foundation……

Provincial awards for CDMF winners  –  Some of the young musicians and actors picked to represent Port Coquitlam’s CDMF Performing Arts Festival at the provincials this month came home with hardware.
